Data fusion of distance sampling and capture-recapture data

چکیده
Species distribution models (SDMs) are increasingly used in ecology, biogeography, and wildlife management to learn about the species–habitat relationships abundance across space time. Distance sampling (DS) capture-recapture (CR) two widely collected data types abundance; still, they seldomly SDMs due lack of spatial coverage. However, fusion sources can increase coverage, which reduce parameter uncertainty make predictions more accurate, therefore, be with SDM. We developed a model-based approach for DS CR data. Our modeling accounts common missing issues: 1) individuals that not at random (MNAR) 2) partially location information. Using simulation experiment, we evaluated performance our compared it existing approaches use ad-hoc methods account issues. results show provides unbiased estimates increased efficiency approaches. Mixture models for capture-recapture count data
The contribution investigates the problem of estimating the size of a population, also known as the missing cases problem. Suppose a registration system is targeting to identify all cases having a certain characteristic such as a specific disease (cancer, heart disease, ...), disease related condition (HIV, heroin use, ...) or a specific behavior (driving a car without license). Every case in s...
متن کاملAnalysis of Dynamic Longitudinal Categorical Data in Incomplete Contingency Tables Using Capture-Recapture Sampling: A case Study of Semi-Concentrated Doctoral Exam
Abstract. In this paper, dynamic longitudinal categorical data and estimation of their parameters in incomplete contingency tables are evaluated. To apply the proposed method, a study has been conducted on the data of the semi-concentrated doctoral exam of the National Organization for Educational Testing (NOET). The results of studies such as the obtained confidence intervals and calculating t...
متن کاملStructurally missing data problems in multiple list capture–recapture data
Multiple-list capture–recapture data can be used to estimate the size of a population. In this manuscript two problems are studied and solved using a common solution. The first problem is that the lists refer to different but overlapping populations. An example is that lists refer to different but overlapping regions, different but overlapping periods in time, or different but overlapping age g...
متن کاملA Unifying Model for Capture–Recapture and Distance Sampling Surveys of Wildlife Populations
A fundamental problem in wildlife ecology and management is estimation of population size or density. The two dominant methods in this area are capture-recapture (CR) and distance sampling (DS), each with its own largely separate literature. We develop a class of models that synthesizes them. It accommodates a spectrum of models ranging from nonspatial CR models (with no information on animal l...
